General Conditions
We shall make our best efforts to supply you with the goods requested, but we reserve the right to supply you with similar goods, with your approval no later than 3 weeks before the event. All goods for hire remain our property. All goods for sale remain our property until full payment has been made. Deliveries to third parties or unoccupied premises are made entirely at your own risk.
Prices quoted are for one day’s hire only which is specified on the booking form. Usage on any other day is not permitted.
Please ensure the correct style chair cover and sash colour is ordered before booking. If in doubt please order a sample before booking.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the goods are fully covered by insurance with regard to theft, damage, and public liability risks.
Samples
Samples are sent out upon request at a cost of £10. If you proceed with the booking, it will be deducted from the total order. If you do not proceed with the booking, we will issue a £5 refund. In the event that we do not receive the sample, no monies will be refunded. Please ensure that you get ‘proof of postage’.
Booking form & payment
A non-refundable £50 deposit is required to reserve your booking with a minimum booking of 40 chair covers.
Bookings can be made by phone, e-mail or post. There is a printable booking form on the website.
We accept the following methods of payment:
Paypal - info@sage-events.co.uk, postal order or cheque made payable to Sage Events. Our bank details are available upon request if you choose to pay by bank transfer
Please note that all bookings are confirmed in writing. If you don’t hear from us within 14 days of sending us your booking form and deposit/full payment, please contact us.
Final total payment is required in full 3 weeks prior to the event. If payment is not received within the stated time frame, we will assume our services are no longer required.
Changes to order after booking
We are able to make slight changes to orders (depending on availability). Please give us a window of 3 weeks for changes.
Prices
Prices & availability of products are subject to change without notice, however once a deposit is paid, the price quoted will not change. A quote given over the phone or by Email may change up until a deposit is paid to secure the booking.
Delivery & Collection of Hire Items
Orders sent by courier usually arrive 2 days before the event and are picked up by courier on the next working day after the event.
The hirer should notify us in writing by e-mail or phone us within 6 hours if there are any problems with the delivery or items. If the Hirer fails to perform any of his obligations under this condition, any goods will be deemed to have been collected/delivered in a satisfactory condition.
The Hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to the goods, from time of delivery until they are collected by the courier and delivered back to our premises.
It will be the sole responsibility of the hirer (not the venue) to make sure that the used items are packed in boxes and taped up ready for courier collection – No need to label the boxes, the courier will bring the lables. The boxes that the items will arrive in should be used for return. However, in the event that these are damaged, use similar sturdy boxes in the same sizes. Covers are not to be returned in plastic bag
If the courier has to leave without picking up the parcels for any reason (not being made ready or too far away from the entrance/reception etc), we will have to rebook. This will cause delay in laundry and subsequent orders. Where this is the case, the hirer will automatically lose 50% of their damage/loss deposit.
We will not be liable for any delays caused by any circumstances beyond our control. This includes courier delivery delays, bad weather, acts of war and or any act of theft. If there is a delay in delivery, which is out of our control and you want the covers delivered same day or on a Saturday, this can be arranged at your cost.
Please note that all covers are collected the following working day, so if your event is on a Saturday, they will be collected on Monday. If you are due to leave for your honeymoon, please make sure you have informed us of the collection address and that you have plans in place for the covers to be ready for collection. If the courier is unable to collect covers due to issues with the collection address or the covers not being ready will automatically deduct 50% of the damage/loss deposit.
Cancellation
Cancellation can be made at any time. However, the hirer will incur cancellation charges if the cancellation is made within 3 months of the event date.
Up to 12 weeks to the event date – No charge
8 – 12 weeks to the event – 25% f total order excl. delivery charges
4 – 8 weeks to the event – 50% of total order excl. delivery charges
4 weeks to the event – 100% of total order excl. delivery charges
We will issue an invoice. If after 28 days we haven’t received payment, the debt will be passed to a collections agency who will act on behalf of Sage Events. Please note that there will be other charges will be added to the invoice.
All special orders are to be paid for upfront and are non-changeable, non-cancelable and non-refundable.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking. We will do so in writing or by Email returning any deposits paid and recommend another reputable company.
Loss/Damage
We require a loss/damage deposit which will be returned if all goods hired are returned undamaged.
Shortages and damages to hired goods will be charged at their full replacement value, and no substitute item will be accepted. Sage Eventsreserves the right to also charge the Hirer loss of profit on the lost future hire of the said goods.
The Hirer may request in writing the return (and bear the cost thereof) of any damaged goods within 14 days of the Hirer being informed by phone, Email or writing of any such damage. Otherwise the said items will be disposed of.
Linen may be returned soiled. Any permanent stains or damages to chair covers, linen & sashes e.g. food, mud, pen marks and burns will attract the following replacement costs: £25 for each table cover, £15 for each damaged chair cover, £10 for table runners and £5 for each sash.
Table linen/Chair Covers which has been dragged on the floor or placed on grass or soiled ground and are damaged beyond repair will be charged for at full replacement costs.
Sashes must be untied before sending back. Untied sashes will attract a charge of £25 per order.
Wet table linen or Chair Covers must not be placed in plastic bags as it may be attacked by mildew and will then be chargeable at the full replacement cost.
Loss/damage deposit of £100 must be on cleared funds and must be paid before the goods are sent out and will be refunded when all the items hired are returned undamaged.
Liability
Sage Eventsshall not be responsible for injury or damage to persons or property howsoever sustained arising from any goods under hire. The hirer will be responsible for ensuring the chair covers and sashes are fitted correctly to prevent any injury. We shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from willful damage, abnormal usage conditions, failure to follow our instruction (whether oral or in writing), misuse or alteration or repair of the linen without our approval.
We shall not be liable to you by reason of any representation or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty at common law or under these terms and conditions, for any special, indirect or consequential damage.
